QA Analyst – Vehicle Products

Location:  Minnetonka, Minnesota

Summary:

PeopleNet is seeking individuals with proven Quality Assurance skills to join an exciting, high-growth environment.  The QA Analyst is responsible for test planning, test case writing, and execution of test cases.  The qualified candidate will have experience in QA methodologies, testing software and web applications, as well as strong analysis, prioritization and problem solving skills.  The ability to work both independently and as a team is essential; as well as the capacity to work on multiple projects simultaneously and ensure an on time delivery.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Test from existing test cases, improve test cases, and write new test cases from specs based on direction from team lead
  • Write bugs with appropriate documentation to allow engineers to analyze 
  • Reviews requirements specifications for testability
  • Write test cases for one or more components based on requirements specifications using risk analysis, prioritization, and time management techniques
  • Ability to run regression tests on 75% of an product areas with minimal assistance
  • Understands feature interaction and how code changes can affect other areas of system
  • Works with QA lead to ensure projects are delivered on time
  • Provides project estimates, allocates tasks, and ensures completion of all tasks for assigned projects of 2 or more people
  • Provides weekly project updates to team lead and Manager
  • Mentors lower level QA team members 
  • SME on one or more components; able to do basic testing for many other components
  • Understands QA methodologies and offers suggestions for improvement
  • Additional tasks as assigned

 

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree, computer science or engineering preferred and 2-4  years QA experience or 4+ years QA experience
  • 2+ years developing test cases and test software components
  • Project administrator experience
  • Ability to estimate and track progress on small (1-2 person) projects
  • Results oriented, organized, and self-motivated
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to self-manage workload
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues
  • Knowledge and experience working with a test case management and defect tracking system
  • Experience with embedded software applications and/or web applications
  • Must be able to work in close-knit team environment

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with using automation
